Mobile technology has become a common feature in our culture as a result of affordable tariffs and the rise of applications, according to Zara Rabinowicz, a technology expert.
"The fact that the UK tops the polls in terms of using mobile technology demonstrates the extent that mobile communication has become integrated into our culture," said Ms Rabinowicz.
She went on to say that the rapid growth of the application market ensures "seamless delivery of content to the source". She cited maps and shopping as two areas where both the physical and online journey of the user can be enhanced.
Her comments come after a report published by Ofcom earlier this month revealed laptops are the most popular devices used to access the internet in the UK, while the country's smartphone uptake rose faster than anywhere else in Europe in the past year.
Low-cost tariffs helped to drive this growth by allowing greater access to mobile internet, she said.
