Online video has gradually found a solid place as a tool for internet marketing as video-on-demand allows companies to focus on their target audience and engage with them more efficiently, according to Jamie Estrin, MD of online video ad network Web TV.
"Online video is now part of the marketing mix," he said.
"With so much premium quality being consumed across the web every day, advertising monies are following these audiences," he added.
On-demand services are allowing advertisers to "place their campaigns around broadcast quality content on the web and reach a highly targeted, engaged audience", he explained.
As a result of a spike in demand for these services, the variety of internet video services now available will accelerate consumer engagement with online video content, the expert said.
His comments emerged as WWE (previously known as World Wrestling Entertainment) announced the appointment of Web TV to exclusively represent its British online video content.
