Workers in the UK have embraced developments in the IT industry and are increasingly bringing new devices that enable easier flexible working, according to Robby Gulri, Echoworx's vice president of products.
"Even small businesses, who are pretty rigid in the way that they do things, are starting to see five people in the company that have five different devices and five different ways of doing things," he said on the sidelines of Infosecurity Europe at London's Earls Court late last month.
The expert went on to say that it is the people in industries like marketing who are using such devices more voraciously.
However, he admitted companies are fearful of this trend because of the negative effects it may have on companies' security systems.
But added that the uptake of new devices presents "an opportunity for a lot of companies".
Separately, Hewlet-Packard has recently launched a new range of products and services that deliver real-time analysis of IT security.
