Digital marketers should start focusing on mobile phone to cause a great impact in their sales, according to Rob Thurner, mobile consultant and digital trainer at the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM).
"The internet, I would say, has got the greatest growth potential and it's fundamental that people start to realise this. Building a mobile site isn't simply a case of redirecting traffic from the URL," he said.
The expert went on to say that marketers need to make sure they are building content that optimises that phone.
"If you're using other mobile formats, you have to understand the capability of the phone," he added.
He also said people need to make sure that their website is optimised for mobile.
"This means spending some proper money and working with some professional agencies that can detect whether the browser is mobile or PC and automatically redirect traffic," he said.
