An employee at Apple has been talking up a launch of a third generation iPad even as the company launched its
iPad2, but some are still somewhat skeptical.
An Apple insider said recently that the third version of the iPad will be a gadget "to make song and dance about". The person was speaking to Cult of Mac, an Apple daily news website, ahead of the launch of the iPad2.
But not everyone agrees.
Jeremy Horwitz, editor-in-chief of online iPod, iPhone and iPad information provider iLounge, said that those eagerly expecting the next version of the iPad might be disappointed.
"Even if another iPad is planned for later this year, there is no guarantee that it would actually be what everyone is expecting," he said.
The expert went on to say that [the iPad might experience "production challenges have historically impacted Apple's plans to release new devices with special features on specific calendar dates".
