Enterprises, including those in the IT industry, need to move their recruitment operations online or they risk shutting down, according to Paul Daley, director of HR consulting and services.
"If you're not moving to using more forward-thinking online methods you're going to go out of business in three years' time," Mr Daley warned.
He said plenty of businesses have already moved their recruitment methods online and there is a need for many more to do so.
With the advent of the internet, the expert said, the traditional recruitment process is often "archaic" and it gives job candidates a "poor experience".
His comments emerged [AFTER] Primark, the clothing chain, said it would only accept candidates for its new branch in Scunthorpe via the internet.
The expert said, recruiting online, gives companies like Primark the capacity to target advertising a lot more closely, which makes things a lot more efficient.
