Businesses many times do not think about the impact of new technologies when they are using them, according to Ian Price, managing director of Grimsdyke Consulting and author of the book 'The Activity Illusion'.
"I think as a general rule, the ease of use of new technologies means that we often use them abundantly without necessarily thinking about the impact on our efficiency," he claimed.
As managing director of Grimsdyke Consulting, Ian Price helps leaders and organisations to increase their effectiveness at work.
In his book 'The Activity Illusion,' Mr Price points out the usual mistakes made by the businesses daily when they try to implement a paperless office.
He went on to say that the easiness to send an e-mail or a text mobile message creates a lot of information and that has an impact in our psychology because we are being interrupted for many times.
If we get sidetracked, we will be wasting our time, he added.
