Developments in the IT industry and a growing trend in different preferences have pushed built-in screens into kitchens and bathrooms, according to Jeff Summers sales manager at Videotree.
He said this technology is "very rapidly" moving into the home.
"At the moment it's still a relatively elite area, but it's becoming more affordable, and more and more people would like it as an aspect of their bathroom or kitchen," he argued.
The expert also went on to say everyday kitchen appliances such as dishwashers and fridges have "all peaked in terms of technology".
Mr Summers went on to say the IT developments in television systems is almost reaching its peak.
His comments emerged on the sidelines of the Grand Designs Live 2011 event held at ExCeL London earlier this month.
Experts in the industry have said the use of technology in the home is on the rise on the back of tech-savvy owners wishing to keep abreast with the latest developments.
