Those in IT careers are said to be anxious to secure the new version of Microsoft's document management software.
Joel Oleson, author of technology blog of SharePointJoel.com, noted the "huge anticipation" around new SharePoint 2010 features and said professionals, businesses and developers are all keen to take advantage of the developments despite not yet knowing what they are.
According to a survey published by the software's best practice and guidance blog last month (August 28th), 65 per cent of users of the current version plan to upgrade within the first year of Sharepoint 2010's release.
More than one on five of those surveyed (21.4 per cent) said they plan to buy the new version within three months of its release.
Mr Oleson added that he would advise those in the IT industry to consider the fact that "the larger the environment, the more planning and testing that should go into preparing for the upgrade."
