IT courses: Market in IT industry ‘stabilising’

11:42 4th May 2011

Demand for IT workers has continued to be more stable recently, according to Richard Nott, website director of CWJobs.co.uk, a specialist IT recruitment website which aims to enable permanent and contract IT jobseekers to find jobs across all industries.

The news could be seen as a positive sign for those looking to pursue IT courses.

"The market has continued to stabilise and our latest data shows that demand for IT professionals has now increased for six consecutive quarters," Mr Nott said.

The expert said last year experienced steady growth in demand for IT professionals, with an eight per cent increase in the second quarter, followed by eight per cent in the third and five per cent in the final quarter of the year.

"We expect the IT jobs market to continue to grow steadily throughout 2011. However, despite this upturn, job levels are still down by almost half the pre-recession levels seen in 2007 and 2008," he added.
