Workforce mobility is key to create a paperless office environment, according to Richard Taylor, UK partner for the Birchman Group.
This fact and the internet use spreading will make the use of paper less important over time.
People working in jobs that involve mobility need to use the internet continuously for their daily tasks so if anyone is in a hotel one day the next day could be off at a client.
"Wherever I am, I want to be able to get hold of the documentation that's important to me," Mr Taylor explained.
"The mobile workforce is really driving the general trend," he added.
Many people in their daily job don't need to use paper because their task is using Google Mail or Google Docs so they can work perfectly in a paperless office, the expert noted.
Using an iPhone or a laptop is more suitable to see any documentation than papers, Mr Taylor explained.
Previous studies have said paperless offices would get important money savings.
