The mobile operator Three will give away 3G broadband to rural areas that are having problems with access nowadays, which is a great move, according to Michael Phillips, product director for Broadbandchoices.co.uk.
"It is a welcome gesture from Three to the customers in remote villages and communities," he said.
Plans to develop internet use in rural areas came from an arrangement between Three and the Countryside Alliance. Both entities named the initiative as the Rural Broadband Working Group.
The main aim of the Rural Broadband Working Group is helping families, businesses and communities in rural areas to carry out their daily activities.
Gringley-on-the-Hill in North Nottinghamshire is the first village in receiving free internet connectivity.
The village has a population of 750 inhabitants and a few public buildings like a school, a church and a pub.
Gringley-on-the-Hill will get around 30 mobile broadband dongles and MiFi devices.
