Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are to receive integration services from IT industry giant HP, the firm has revealed.
The organisation has decided to begin offering services that include technology deployment, data migration and relocation, site planning and project management to smaller businesses that can sometimes find such needs baffling.
Many SMEs need this type of help but are often unable to get it without at least one of its executives taking an IT training course.
However, the approach being offered by HP means the IT industry could grow through the new services, which in turn will help SMEs to develop their own business.
Commenting on the importance of the IT sector to the UK's efforts to beat the current economic downturn, Karen Price, chief executive of e-skills, said: "The IT professional workforce will be central to the UK's recovery from recession."
The number of jobs posted for IT support technicians rose 14 per cent over the past year, showing that more and more businesses are requiring complex IT solutions, which is what HP is proposing to offer.
