Dell says people in the market for a new computer are putting of purchases.
According to the US PC manufacturer, sales are stabilising after almost two years of falls.
"We continue to believe that customers are deferring IT purchases and that we will see demand return to more typical levels at some point," said chief executive officer Brian Gladden.
Dell hopes to achieve growth of between five and seven per cent but warns results are reliant on broad global economic improvement and higher worldwide IT spending.
The company has recently introduced a desktop PC that does away with the regular tower design and incorporates its hardware into a monitor.
While the Studio One 19 model is unlikely to feature on computer courses, it could achieve popularity thanks to the small amount of space it needs.
Apple took the lead with this all-in-one approach to computer design - the firm's iMac was launched in 1998.
