Job cuts in the City could be good news for IT directors looking to hire highly skilled programmers, IT architects and datacentre staff, a technology analyst has said.
MWD Advisors has said that now is the time for IT directors to snap up IT skills, as thousands of staff in the City face uncertain times, with many IT jobs likely to go.
Bola Rotibi, an analyst at the IT advisors, predicts that directors who could previously not afford to compete with the banking sector to attract Java and transaction processing specialists could now find the same people knocking at their door.
She said: "City IT staff are more clued up on running highly secure, high performance transaction processing systems in datacenters."
