The importance of broadband internet access has been highlighted by a Welsh minister.
In news that could interest people in search of IT jobs, minister for the economy and transport Wyn Jones made the statement after it was revealed BT would work with the Welsh Assembly to introduce broadband to four villages.
High-speed broadband will be rolled out in Beulah and Ystrad Meurig in Ceredigion and Cil-y-Cwm and Llanfynydd in Carmarthenshire as part of the scheme.
Mr Jones stated that all Welsh communities must benefit from digital technologies such as broadband.
"Top broadband links are vital for developing the knowledge economy, improving the ability of businesses and individuals to network and innovate," the minister said.
"We cannot afford to leave anybody behind," he added.
Broadband access was rolled out to Reynalton and Saundersfoot in Pembrokeshire, Cilcennin in Ceredigion and Gwytherin in Conwy last year.
Meanwhile, BT introduced super-fast fibre-based broadband to 14,500 homeowners in Durham this week.
