A free online service has been launched to help small businesses manage their company-owned BlackBerry phones, which could be of interest to those going on database administration courses.
Research In Motion (RIM) is behind the BlackBerry Management Centre, which helps enterprises with up to 100 BlackBerry smartphones that use cloud computing to access email services from an ISP or web-based services such as Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo!.
Alan Panezic, vice president of enterprise product management at RIM, commented: "We are pleased to introduce RIM's latest cloud service designed specifically for small businesses.
"BlackBerry Management Centre is a free service and an effective way to centrally manage and support employees' BlackBerry smartphones in the cloud."
The resource also helps to reduce the risk of a work phone getting lost or stolen, while data from the handsets can be backed up onto the cloud on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
This could help those who want to embark on database administration careers.
