Batman: Arkham Asylum has won the top prize at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) 2010 Video Game awards, a news report has said.
The British-developed game, which sees the superhero tackle a number of old enemies in the asylum setting, was also awarded the Bafta prize for best gameplay.
Batman's main competitor, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves took four awards, including best action and story, while LittleBigPlanet, a title originally created by Surrey-based Media Molecule, won the award for best handheld game.
Legendary game maker Shigeru Miyamoto, the man behind Super Mario, Donkey Kong and The Legend of Zelda was given a lifetime achievement award.
In other news, Sony has used the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco to present Playstation Move, its new motion controller which aims to challenge market leader Nintendo Wii.
But initial reactions from those who had the chance to play with the system at the conference were muted, according to the BBC.
