The British Computer Society (BCS) has joined forces with the IT Service Management Forum International (itSMFI) to work to improve standards within the IT sector in the UK.
In a joint agreement between the two IT bodies it has been agreed that they will pool their resources to engage with the issues that concern IT professionals as well as seek out opportunities to further the interests of those operating in the IT industry.
BCS and itSMFI will also be offering advice and guidance to other organisations seeking to establish best practice for IT professionals within their business.
David Clarke, BCS chief executive officer, commented: "We are very happy to be working with itSMF International and contribute to the future development of IT Service Management."
He added that the itSMFI and BCS shared similar goals to promote professionalism and higher standards of practice within the IT sector.
itSMFI was set up in 1991 to serve the interests of IT professional across the world. The organisation has representation in 6,000 companies encompassing 70,000 workers.
