The great and the good from the IT industry gathered on December 4th for the British Computer Society (BCS) Industry Awards.
Innovation and professionalism were recognised by the judging panel which bestowed the BP Environment accolade upon Fivium and the Green Organisation of the Year trophy upon gm2 Logistics.
Claire Adams of Connecting for Health was named service manager of the year for her IT programme of training that has encouraged IT literacy among NHS staff.
David Clarke, BCS chief executive, commented: "The BCS IT Industry awards are regarded as the hallmark of excellence, best practice and professionalism in the industry. The two green awards are relatively new categories and reflect one of the key issues affecting our industry today."
He added that the awards are designed to encourage other companies to take inspiration from the initiatives undertaken by the winners.
Ford Motor Company won a professional development award for its Career Development Framework which has helped employees enhance their IT skills.
