Keep Christmas lights as far away as possible from your broadband router and computer to avoid interference with your broadband speed - that's the advice given by a Talk Talk blog.
According to Talk Talk, Christmas tree lights and other in-home lighting and wiring can interfere with wireless signals and reduce broadband speeds by up to 25 per cent. This is regardless of who the ISP provider is.
"Most people think their broadband speed is affected solely by how far they are from the telephone exchange, but there are a number of other important factors that have a big impact too," the blog added.
To keep broadband speed at good levels, Talk Talk also suggested to avoid having lights flashing as in some cases this can block the wireless connection.
Another even more reliable way to ensure that broadband speed is not affected by the holiday season is acquiring a Speed Kit which includes an iPlate that blocks signal interference, the blog said.
