Apple unveils iPhone 4

12:05 8th June 2010

In news that may interest those in the IT industry, the model boasts new technologies such as video calling through FaceTime and the highest resolution display ever built into a phone.

Users could be interested to note the phone's operating system now offers multitasking, folders and enhanced mail, on top of Apple's new iAd mobile advertising platform.

The device features a five-megapixel camera with LED flash and HD recording, while it is powered by an Apple A4 processor.

Its battery offers 40 per cent longer talk time that its predecessors, while its stainless steel design will make it the thinnest smartphone on the market.

Apple chief executive Steve Jobs said: "Our new Retina display is the highest resolution display ever in a phone, with text looking like it does on a fine printed page. We have been dreaming about both of these breakthroughs for decades."

The iPhone 4 will be released in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan on June 24th.

Individuals in search of IT jobs may be interested to note the company recently released the iPad, a tablet PC with multigesture touchscreen technology.
