Technology firm Apple is leading the IT industry out of recession, its latest figures have confirmed.
The company responsible for some of the most commercially successful developments in the IT sector over the past few years has announced profits of $1.67 billion (£1.01 billion) off revenue of $9.87 billion (£6.01 billion) during the third quarter of this year.
It is the most successful quarter in the company's history, despite the world still suffering from an economic downturn that has resulted in much of the IT industry seeing lower profits.
Commenting on the results, Steven Cheliotis, director and chief executive of the Centre for Brand Analysis, said: "It's been reaffirmed, once again, that a strong, well-regarded brand is the greatest differentiation between poor business and successful business."
Apple's success also suggests the IT industry could be moving out of the recession and demand for technological devices may be back on the rise.
Such an optimistic outlook is underlined by a recent study undertaken on behalf of Microsoft, which revealed the IT industry would lead the world out of recession over the next four years, creating thousands of new job opportunities.
