Apple has cemented iPhone's reputation as the leading player in the smartphone with the new features of iphone Operator Services (OS) 4.0, according to James Zielinski, co-founder of Rightmobile.co.uk.
Last week, Apple announced that its new service, which will be available
to users this summer, will have more than 100 new features, including multitasking for third party apps, folders to better organise and access apps, a unified inbox, deeper Enterprise support, mobile device management, an eBook reader and gaming centre.
"Essentially Apple have smoothed off those rough edges by making the software more organised and able to flow from task to task. It has never been more in touch with its user," said Mr Zielinski.
He noted, however, that one big miss for the device was the continuing lack of Flash Player, saying that this gives users a less complete online experience "than can be found using some of its rivals."
