Students on web design courses need to be completely committed to achieving their goals, one industry expert maintains.
Bob Casey, a member of the Design Skills Panel and professor of visual communication at the University of Central Lancashire, believes that web deign careers are in such demand that prospective graduates need to ensure it is the right move for them.
"They've got to be realistic," he told Digital Arts.
"But once they've decided to go for it they've really got to go for it; there can be no half-measures."
He added that while some might discover that web design careers on the frontline might not be for them, they might like to consider other options such as management and teaching.
Meanwhile, Microsoft recently gave web designers a preview of its upgraded Expression package at the Royal Opera House.
