A young web designer has shown the benefits of IT training by winning a major competition.
Teenager Jamie Miller triumphed in the search to find a youngster to produce a new online presence for cancer charity the London Sarcoma Support Group, reports the Waltham Forest Guardian.
Mr Miller was presented with a cheque for his efforts by the body's founder, Karen Delin, the news provider added.
Louise Davis, head of ICT at the King Solomon school, told the newspaper that the scheme has acted as a source of IT training for the A-level pupils.
She said: "The project has been useful for the students as they have developed their design and project management skills as well as being involved with a worthwhile cause."
In related news, those already with careers in the web design industry were honoured last week at the IT annual awards, which were held at the Dorchester, in London.
