UK e-learning sector set for growth

13:15 8th December 2009

The e-learning industry in the UK could grow by eight per cent over the course of 2010, according to the latest forecast.

A survey carried out by Learning Light has predicted that the UK will see an increase in the demand for online training courses over the coming 12 months, which could in part be down to more people looking to make a career change as the recession continues to result in redundancies.

Meanwhile, businesses may also be considering using e-learning tools in order to boost their staff's skills, as many experts have pointed out that a highly-trained workforce can be more able to cope with the tough economic conditions.

Furthermore, the report has predicted that Sheffield will become a major hub for the e-learning industry, with a growing number of people from the city choosing to take online training courses.

Many people may be considering taking online training courses related to the IT industry, after recent suggestions that the sector could see significant growth over the next five years.

Research commissioned by computer giant Microsoft has claimed the IT industry will lead the world out of recession by creating thousands of new job opportunities around the globe as businesses look to save money through improved IT infrastructure.
