Retail web sites need to have value-added content in order to encourage repeat visits, says software specialist.

Modera, a content management specialist and software developer, has noted that these additional features are important for brands that sell online.

Looking to study on a web design course, people who are retraining could do well to note the advice of Modera's chief executive officer Siim Vips.

Mr Vips suggests that by creating content for online audiences brands can start "capturing the essence of what the target audience can experience and then entice them to go to learn more at their own leisure".

Key to the success of such sites is not just their ability to create awareness, he notes, but also to build loyalty.

"Not only do they need to be ready to entice, conduct and manage business; they need to represent the brand," Mr Vips added.
