A ten-year-old boy has become the youngest ever student to pass the computing AS level.
Shayan Ahmed from Walsall was awarded a C grade yesterday (August 13th), having previously achieved a GCSE B grade in Information and Communication Technologies aged just seven.
The budding web designer, who is working on an online blog, spent a year studying for the exam at Ryde Teaching Services in Bushey, Hertfordshire.
Mike Ryde, principal of the learning provider, said that Shayan has proven that "children can achieve at a younger age if given the opportunity".
Shayan's father, Dr Masood Ahmed, told the Daily Mail: "We are delighted with his result. We have always told him it is not just about the result, it is about doing your best and he absolutely did."
Last year, Kabilan Malavarayan from Hounslow achieved a full A-level in computing at Ryde Teaching Services aged 15, after just nine months of study.
