A teacher at the University of Westminster in London has set up a website designed to deliver IT training to both fellow teachers and students, reports the Guardian.
Russell Stannard has embraced modern science for his information and communication technology lectures, marking students' work on video and sending them by email to the relevant individuals and now organising online lessons in tools such as podcasting and BlackBoard.
He has since developed a website where people can watch his mouse using the various software programmes, while his voice narrates the action.
Mr Stannard told the paper: "I wanted to help other teachers, as well as computer-users, to learn how to use tools like podcasting, PowerPoint and BlackBoard; software that allows teachers to provide course material and communicate with students online."
The video marking has proven particularly useful for international students who lack confidence with written English, as well as among people who suffer from dyslexia.
In related news, educational institutions across Britain are promoting the value of computer training, according to a report from e-skills UK.
