Surrey organisations team up to offer computer training

Two organisations in Surrey have teamed up to offer adults in the area the opportunity to expand their skill-sets through computer training.

Redhill and Reigate Life reports that the Warwick School in Redhill and the Workers' Educational Association (WEA) will work together to offer IT training before expanding to offer additional courses.

Adult learning is already provided by the WEA through a partnership with East Surrey College, which is funded by the Learning Skills Council.

Jane Waller, development worker for the WEA in East Surrey, told the paper: "The Warwick School has an excellent record and an enviable reputation for providing mainly high quality computer learning courses for adults, so a partnership between our organisations is an excellent match."

Ron Searle, headteacher of the Warwick School, said the partnership will help cement the institution's reputation as a centre of learning excellence in the region.

BT has announced super-fast broadband services will be rolled out in Glasgow and Edinburgh, a development that will boost home learning facilities in Scotland.
