Young people throughout Britain could find they have access to more employment opportunities as a result of the government's skills for growth plan.
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills plans to stimulate the economy by improving the skill sets of young people entering work through providing assistance to employer training programmes and expanding apprenticeships.
Providing more IT training courses could also help young people pick up more skills and enable them to find better paid jobs as the economy recovers from recession.
Dan Hawes, co-founder of the Graduate Recruitment Bureau, said: "Any initiative that increases the skills of people entering the workforce and meets the needs of employers is going to give them a valuable injection of skills. I think it is a good idea."
He added that disadvantaged members of society and people just graduating could also benefit from more opportunities.
Over half of all recent graduates in the UK work in public services six months after graduating, according to figures from the Centre for Cities.
