A school in the north-east of England is set to roll out a series of courses for people keen to develop their IT skills, it has been announced.

Following the recent news that Bydales specialist technology college in the town of Marske has been awarded a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery, it has now been confirmed that some of the money will be put aside for a series of new IT training initiatives.

As well as enabling parents to gain an understanding of the online applications their children are now using, the forthcoming courses will also focus on developing skills such as web design and programming.

Speaking to the Marske Gazette, assistant head at the school Darren Atkinson added: "The ICT staff and I will teach people how to use email and other computer programmes, especially things to help them write CVs or job applications."

Over the past two years, Bydales has invested more than £140,000 in computer equipment, reflecting a general trend towards putting more money in IT training in all areas.ADNFCR-1667-ID-18920281-ADNFCR
