The editor of Build A Skill, which provides solutions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), advises companies to look into search engine optimisation (SEO).

As the economic downturn bites, Mike Tekula urges companies to implement new IT marketing tools and suggests SEO could bring in new business.

Value for money is associated with SEO and for this reason it is increasing in popularity as companies train their IT departments to harness targeted online marketing opportunities that they can track.

Mike Tekula commented: "For most small businesses, SEO is new. Some have considered it, perhaps even done a bit of research on the topic, but haven't yet invested in it."

He added that a number of companies that had invested in SEO had found that it generated an increased amount of interest in their site.

SEO is the targeted pursuit of search engine rankings by a website that involves directing traffic to the site every time a particular word is entered. ADNFCR-1667-ID-18915008-ADNFCR
