RLA computer training to help landlords

16:25 19th March 2009

A number of web-based computer training courses have been launched to boost landlords' skills in relation to tenancy management.

Launched by the Residential Landlords Association (RLA) and introduced by TV property celebrity Phil Spencer, the programme consists of 18 modules that cover areas such as rent arrears, building regulations and possession orders.

Mr Spencer commented that he is supporting the course as it helps landlords stay up-do-date.

Video, audio and text combine for the course, with audio parts available to be downloaded as mp3 files. Participants also gain access to more than 20,000 RLA webpages that offer reference material.

Alan Ward, chairman of the RLA, stated that the new course if part of the organisation's service to landlords.

"But more knowledgeable and professional landlords are also an essential part of our commitment to self regulation within the private rented sector as a practical alternative to rising levels of government legislation," he added.
