There is no better time than now to start IT training and to become more valuable to your employer, according to one expert.
Sarah Berry, author of 'Write a Perfect CV in a Weekend', is convinced that businesses will increasingly be aiming to make full use of the skills their current employees have in light of the worsening economic climate.
As a result, there are likely to be more and more opportunities for individuals to make use of IT skills and understanding, Ms Berry maintains.
"You've really got to safeguard your career, and become a more valuable asset to the company," Ms Berry said.
She went on to insist that qualified IT experts are likely to remain in demand despite the credit crunch because of the extent to which most businesses now rely on computers and telecoms equipment.
A recent report from the Learning and Skills Council rated IT security as being the UK's most "credit crunch-proof" profession.
