A new firm has been launched in Walsall, West Midlands, to provide skills training and encourage more start-up companies in the region.
Mike Lee was formerly involved with the organisation of charity Breathing Space and he has now launched Bringing Enterprise to Life by forming a partnership with local businessman David Hill.
Computer training could be among around 20 different courses on offer from the new organisation, which will cater for existing business managers looking to improve their skills sets, as well as individuals keen to start their own firm.
Mr Lee said: "There is plenty of potential out there, but the pressure of running your own company in the middle of an economic downturn needs external support and this is where we come in, offering expert advice and guidance tailored exactly to the needs of the individual."
He added that that the concept of enterprise is the best way for individuals to help lift the UK out of recession.
In related news, companies looking to secure government contracts will have to ensure they offer IT training programmes to their staff.
