Professionals considering a change to an IT career might like to consider networking courses, following the findings of a new survey.
The National Computing Centre (NCC) recently published its Benchmark of Salaries and Employment Trends in IT, in which it predicts that the next two years will see a heightened demand for those with Oracle, SAP, .NET, web development, network support, business analysis and project management skills.
Overall, the NCC found that a skills shortage among the IT jobs sector is reappearing. Almost two in five respondents told the centre that they face retention and recruitment issues - up from three in ten last year.
"With some skills moving into shortage, employers should be planning and budgeting for how best to acquire these skills now," recommended Ian Jones, head of content at the NCC.
The findings were backed up by comments from Paul Smith, managing director at outsourcing provider Harvey Nash, who recently told the Times that there are around 160,000 IT jobs currently unfilled.
Computeach's networking courses are designed to launch your career in IT.
