Students could benefit from switching to mobile broadband packages when they return to their studies, say industry experts broadbandchoices.co.uk.
According to the web site, there are savings to be had by switching from a fixed line to a mobile connection.
Michael Phillips, product director, explained that thanks to recent price reductions "deals have really come down in price over the past year and often come with some pretty good freebies attached".
The site recommends students try monthly payment options and trial a one-month deal to see if it suits their needs.
It also suggests staying away from pay-as-you-go deals as you are "rarely able to carry over unused data allowances from one month to the next".

Recent figures from analysts Netcraft revealed there were 239 million websites as of July this year.
