Microsoft's chief executive has revealed that the company will be developing a version of Windows for cloud computing.
Steve Ballmer, revealed that the cloud operating system is part of a broad strategy which aims to answer critics, who suggest that Microsoft is not addressing the new ways of buying and using applications.
Speaking at Microsoft's Technology to Change your Business event, Mr Ballmer explained that the new operating system would address the challenges of developing, deploying and supporting applications that run in the internet cloud, or in a data centre.
"We have a new software development model to [allow] applications to run where it makes sense," he said.
The multinational technology corporation also announced yesterday (October 1st) that it plans to introduce a certification programme to train hundreds of thousands of IT professionals in virtualisation technologies.
