People undertaking IT training courses are well placed to make the most of new jobs emerging after the recession, it has been claimed.
According to the Shreveport Times, the end of the recession will see the emergence of a variety of new employment opportunities, with the IT industry leading the charge.
However, the publication warns that there will also be a global shortage of relevant skills, meaning people who have taken IT training schemes will be snapped up quickly by businesses looking to enhance their IT systems.
"The wave of emerging jobs are in science, technology and engineering or are mathematically based," expert Edward Gordon told the newspaper.
"There simply aren't enough people with the skills and education these high-skill and high-wage jobs require," he added.
In the UK, the government is already being urged to improve the quality of IT training for teachers, as a recent report from the British Educational Suppliers Association revealed that many teachers do not have sufficient confidence when using technology in the classroom.
