The capability of IT professionals to work remotely and take their expertise out of the office is enough to rival the banking and consultancy sector, says an industry insider.
IT professionals view skills and training as the most prized aspect of their job and are prepared to travel abroad in order to expand the training opportunities available to them.
Alex Farrell, managing director of the IT Job Board, commented: "Some skills such as SAP are particularly mobile as they are more consulting based rather than incredibly technical. The survey showed that the most popular European destinations were France, Germany and Spain and outside the UK, Australia and the United States."
A survey by the IT Job Board published on December 9th revealed that 81 per cent of IT professionals would consider travelling overseas to pursue a job opportunity and 71 per cent of those said they would travel to another city in the UK to further their career.
