A recruitment website has warned graduates looking for work in the IT industry that they should not ask about salary during their job interviews.
The webcast on itjobsforgraduates.com, the first in a series of online guides for IT graduates, advised candidates not to enquire about wage structures during initial interviews.
Other guidelines offered in the webcast, which contained advice from recruitment specialists and IT companies, include being fully prepared about the company, the industry in which it operates and the position being applied for.
Teresa Sperti, marketing manager at itjobsforgraduates.com, said, "The recruitment process can be daunting at the best of times, and this is especially so for graduates who do not yet have any experience and therefore do not know what to expect."
Earlier this month, JobFox.com named six IT fields in its top 20 recession-proof professions for June.
