Local residents in Redditch are being offered free computer use alongside a variety of additional resources in their local library.
The library is offering free computer use for up to two hours per person each day, with visitors able to use the internet and the various applications of Microsoft Office to look for jobs or work on their own IT training.
In addition, children's reading is being actively encouraged, with locals youngsters being challenged to give feedback on as many books as they can over the summer months.
Angela Wright, library manager, said: "We hope our free two-hour daily computer access can help improve skills and with it raise confidence when looking for that new job - free one-to-one computer help sessions with one of our friendly team are available on request to anyone who needs that bit of extra support in getting online."
In other training news, teachers from ethnic minority groups in the London borough of Wandsworth are to be offered more opportunities to train to become headteachers in the region, in a bid to improve the ethnicity balance.
