Free computer courses launched

14:00 10th June 2009

Free IT courses are to start tomorrow for residents of Parnwell in Peterborough.

Peterborough Today reports the CP Learning Trust is to run two computer courses to help improve basic computer skills.

People can choose from attending either the internet and email course, which covers areas such as search engines, internet security and using email, or from the course in word processing essentials.

Both classes last for six weeks, with the IT crowd meeting at 10:00 BST for two hours and the word processors from 12:30 BST.

The sessions are being delivered by the CP Learning Trust as part of the East of England Development Agency-funded Economic Participation Project.

CP Learning Trust is a charity in the regions of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and aims to improve learning opportunities for residents.

Its mission statement is "to play a leading role in building a culture of lifelong learning; by providing creative, high quality learning opportunities which inspire in individuals a desire to progress and to fulfil their potential though learning".
