IT training courses could help businesses tackle climate change and focus more on cutting their environmental impact on the world.

People with a high standard of IT skills are able to implement the policies that can help a business go green, with one expert suggesting that IT has a lot to offer when it comes to tackling climate change.

Henry Stewart, chief executive of UK-based carbon-neutral training provider Happy, has suggested that IT infrastructure is one of the top ten ways that a business is able to cut its carbon footprint.

"There are complex issues involved, but technology like thin client and virtualisation can have a big impact," he writes in Training Zone.

People who have undertaken IT training courses and are able to make the most of their IT skills will be able to help their business look at new ways to cut energy costs.

Video conferencing is one important area that has long been touted as potentially helping to tackle climate change, allowing multinational businesses to come together without people having to fly around the world.
