Efficiency savings are leaving IT bosses happy

Efforts by firms to be more efficient have led their IT bosses to be the most confident of recovery.

A spokesperson for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) told Contractor UK that bosses in IT careers are happy with attempts to streamline their operation.

"In terms of why we believe IT is the most confident, we think this is because firms are looking at ways to make their business more efficient at the moment to save costs.

"In doing so, many are investing in their IT systems to make the savings they need and to drive efficiency", the spokesperson explained.

In his assessment of ICAEW's recent Business Confidence Monitor, the organisation's chief executive Michael Izza claimed the research "suggests that the UK recession is at an end".

People hoping to make an career for themselves in IT could consider networking courses to help give them the relevant skills.

In related news, telecoms firm Orange has claimed its study carried out by YouGov has revealed that UK businesses could save £32 billion by encouraging staff to work from home.
