The future is likely to bring an increasing number of available IT jobs to the market as fewer people emerge with the requisite skills, it has been claimed.
Steve Furber CBE, Professor of Computer Engineering at the Manchester University's School of Computer Science, claimed that the institution has seen a fall in applicants in recent years.
At the same time, he told Crain's Manchester Business, demand for IT jobs has gone up - which suggests that there could be yet more openings for those considering IT careers.

Related research from the National Computing Centre claimed that those who have completed networking courses could be in greater demand over the next two years.
