Residents in Dunmow will benefit from new computer training with the opening of a new local library.
A computer suite will be part of the new £1 million complex which also features an increased range of books and DVDs.
Local residents will be able to participate in computer training courses to help increase their IT skills and access the internet.
The new computer suite and training programmes on offer represent an improvement from what was available at the old library.
Councillor David Finch described the new library facilities as state-of-the-art.
With more and more companies using computers and technology for everyday work, the computer training on offer could offer a boost to the local economy.
The Children's Society recently said that there is a need for more training programmes to provide skills and training for young people who lack academic qualifications.
