Computer training master class to be hosted by Sony

Electronics giant and major games manufacturer Sony is to host a computer training master class in Paris towards the end of June, reports developmag.com.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) will host the two-day event, which will include lectures from a variety of programmers responsible for producing some of the biggest gaming titles of recent years, such as Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed.

Up to 14 hours of training will be available to attendees in such fields as games design, visual arts, programming and production.

Pierre Carde, executive director of the event, told the website: "We are happy to welcome SCEE at Paris Master Classes. We are doing our best to make sure attending developers improve their skills and we are convinced having SCEE on board is a key element for it."

The event is likely to be hugely popular among games developers keen to expand their skills sets and learn from individuals behind the biggest market products.

In related news, the British army is to experiment with smells during training videos in a move that could spread to the games industry if it proves successful.
